Texas , Lead
guitar and lead vocals, born in 1962. He fisrt played with
the Crazy Rockin' Cats, and in 1983 with the Texas Dynamite,
but he was of course the leader of the Confederate Teds
from 1986 to 1999. Tweeny, Lead Vocal & Saxophone, was
in the Confederate Teds from 1990 to 1999.Stephan, Fender
bass, born in 1967 , he is also well known as Teds News
editor. Menouar, drummer, born in 1962, played with the
Cats' corner and Bloodshots from 1983 to 1987. They are
now together since October, 2000. After one year of hard
working, They have created their own style, a true dedicated
to the the music they are in love with. Their style comes
from their influences, They all share the same feelin' for
Rock n Roll Revival. Texas is particularly a Sandy Ford's
fan, Menouard do love Fifties rockabilly, Stephan is keen
on early sixties instrumentals and the deeper musical roots
of Tweeny are Elvis, Janis and Tony Vincent. Their first
gig was in France with Crazy Cavan, then they played with
Sandy Ford and many other bands. Ready to Tour, so don't
mess with the Teds ...

From
Paris, France, What a good band name this combo have.
Texas & Tweeny are the originators of the Long Black
Jackets
and have a long association in the French Ted Rock n Roll
scene
going back to their days in the Confederate Teds.
Texas first played in 1980 with the Crazy Rockin' Cats,
then with
Texas Dynamite in 1983, before leading the Confederate Teds
From 1986 to 1999.
Alongside him in there was Tweeny, from 1990 onwards.
The Confederate Teds first came to prominence with their
" Rockabilly Girls " LP, which mixed rock n roll
with rockabilly
and skiffle (like " Don't You Rock Me Daddy-O"
and " Streamline Train")
and for that instantly reminded us of the Riot Rockers -
as well as
containing their own anthems like "Rockabilly Girls",
"Teddy Ride",
"Teddy Boy Is Roar Again" and the instrumental
"Confederate Teds".
They also released an EP (dig the cool melody on "Once
Upon a Time"
and then get set for the power on every song up to "Rockabilly
Party For
Rockers").
After
being a force in the French rock n roll scene for 13 years,
and
playing in Germany and England among others, the Confederate
Teds
split in '99. But Texas and Tweeny soon got another band
on the road
and in 2000 the LONG BLACK JACKETS were born. Comprising
this
4-piece are Texas ( lead gtr/Vocals), Tweeby (saxophone/Vocals),
Stephan Pellet (bass guitar) and Menouar (drums).
Menouar was known from bands like Cats Corner and the Bloodshot
during 1980's whilst Stephan has been active in the scene
writing Ted News
(newsletter) keenly on the scene since the '90s.
All of the members in the band have been active participants
on the
French/European rock n roll scene for many years and have
a fine reputation,
as many will confirm. Texas and Tweeny are also active organizers
of fine
Rock n Roll gigs on the French scene with the organisation
" Rock n Roll All Stars " ( confirming Tweeny's
admiration for Tony Vincent
of the Rock n Roll All Stars/C.S.A)
Yes
cats, the Long Black Jackets have already estabished a name
in their
own right, singe beginning in Frnace on appearances with
such as Crazy Cavan.

I can vouch for
the " Long Black Jackets " as being true Rock
& Roll people. I've known them for many many years and
they are genuine and dedicated to the music and live the
lifestyle, clothes, hairstyle the lot. They are not your pastic
teds.
Their
enthusiasm and now with the " Long Black Jackets "
has helped so much in keeping Rock & Roll alive in France,
especially aroud the Paris area where they all from.
So,
if you like your Teddy Boy Rock & Roll raw, then give
these wel deserved cats listen as this CD may be for you,
from this ever improving band of enthusiasm, who play from
the heart.
